Meet the team

Chris, owner of NexGen Plumbing

Founder Chris Brough is a third-generation plumber, bringing a lifetime of hands-on experience and a deep respect for the trade to NEXGEN Plumbing. He grew up with his grandfather owning his own plumbing business; Chris later learned the craft and his respect for customers from his dad, who owned IRC Mechanical in Fort Wayne.

Chris is a Fort Wayne native who has been a devoted husband to his wife of 31 years, Debbie. He is a dedicated father to their adult children Kennedy (Matt) and Grant and the proud PopPop to their first grandchild. Spending time with his family is what makes him the happiest. During football season, he is an avid Notre Dame and Chicago Bears fan.

At a young age, Chris spent his summers working at his family’s plumbing business with his dad. By high school, it was clear to Chris that working with his hands in the trades would be his path. Later on, Chris was sent to work for a family friend, Zink Inc. Heating and Air Conditioning; his dad wanted him to get a new perspective on how to own a business in a different trade. During that time, Chris received his Journeyman license in HVAC. Chris later pursued and earned his Plumbing Contractors license for Indiana, making him licensed in two of the three major trades.

With more than 30 years in the industry, Chris has worked in every aspect of the plumbing trade:

new construction, service and repair, remodels, drains/sewers, and wholesale and retail sales for industrial, residential, and commercial projects and companies.

Chris launched NEXGEN Plumbing with a clear mission: provide excellent customer service while providing permanent solutions. Chris believes that educating the customer on their options allows the customer to make an informed decision. This is the first step to respecting the customer and their home. He wants to communicate openly with the customer to foster a relationship built on trust and integrity.

Chris Brough is dedicated to building relationships with his customers by providing quality work and dependable service.

Brian Waszczak

Brian Waszczak brings five years of hands-on plumbing experience, a genuine love for helping people, and a problem-solving mindset to the NEXGEN Plumbing team.

Brian began his plumbing career with another local company, where he completed his apprenticeship and quickly discovered that plumbing was more than just a trade, it was an opportunity to solve problems, serve others, and build lasting relationships within his community. His dedication to growing his knowledge and expertise led him to earn his Plumbing Contractor License. He is also certified in Navien tankless water heater installation and repair and water softening and treatment systems.

Residential service is where Brian truly feels at home. He enjoys walking into a problem, figuring out what is happening, and finding the right solution for each homeowner. One of the things he values most is the trust customers place in him for service. Brian takes that responsibility seriously and believes every customer deserves honest recommendations, quality workmanship, and a fair price.

Known as a genuine, passionate problem solver and often "the guy who can fix anything." Brian brings an easygoing, personable approach to every job. He enjoys meeting new people, sharing a laugh, and making sure customers feel comfortable and confident about the work being done in their homes. For Brian, a successful service call isn't just about fixing the plumbing; it's about making sure the customer feels taken care of from beginning to end.

Outside of work, Brian is a devoted husband to his wife, Erika, and a proud dad to their daughter, Gracie. Family is incredibly important to him, and he values having a career that allows him to work hard while still making time for the people who matter most. You'll often find him camping, attending sporting events, tackling projects around the house, spending time with family and friends, or cheering on Gracie from the sidelines at one of her softball games.

For Brian, plumbing combines so many of the things he enjoys most: solving problems, helping people, sharing his expertise, and being part of the community he serves. His goal is simple, to leave every customer with a solution they can trust and an experience they feel good about.
